The greatest reward when you cross the London Marathon finish line is that you can stop running. Beyond that, however, you can cash in on your new medal by taking it to the following establishments to get free stuff. And by stuff we mainly mean alcohol and food.

Freebies Before Race Day

Sushi At YO! Sushi

YO! Sushi is bucking the trend by making its freebie available before you even get your marathon medal. From Monday 16th April to Saturday 21st anyone who can prove they will be running the race – your official email confirmation should do it – will get a free dish from the Marathon Menu at any of the chain’s London restaurants.

Race Day Freebies

A Protein Shake At Neat Nutrition

If you’d prefer your post-race beverage to be healthier than a pint, head to the café in the Lululemon store on Regent Street, where you can get a free protein shake from Neat Nutrition with your medal.

Pasta Or A Cookie At By CHLOE.

The head might say opt for the free pasta – you can get (plant-based) Mac n’ Cheese or the Avocado Pesto Pasta – but your heart will probably lean towards the Cinnamon Espresso cookie. Show your medal at By CHLOE. in Covent Garden and make your choice.

Dim Sum At The Royal China

One dim sum dish probably won’t be enough to refuel your body after running 42.2km, but every little helps – especially when it’s free. Present your medal at the Baker Street, Bayswater, Fulham, Harrow-on-the-Hill or Canary Wharf branches of The Royal China to get your dumplings on.

A Drink At Skylon

Enjoy a free drink with a cracking view over the Thames from Skylon Restaurant in the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank.

A Drink At Aster

After you’ve finished taking in the views at Skylon, head for Aster Restaurant near Victoria station, where showing your medal will net you another free drink.

Sashimi Pizza And A Drink At Kurobuta

Head for a Kurobuta branch in Chelsea or Marble Arch clutching your precious medal and you’ll be rewarded with a sashimi pizza and a glass of house wine, Asahi beer or JARR Kombucha.

Freebies On Race Day And Beyond

Veni-Moo Burger At Mac & Wild

Nabbing a free Veni-moo burger is quickly becoming one of the best London Marathon traditions, which also means it will be pretty hard to get a table at Mac & Wild on either Sunday 22nd or Monday 23rd April, so book in advance to avoid disappointment. Mac & Wild Fitzrovia is offering free venison and beef megaburgers on Sunday and Monday, while the Devonshire Square branch only has the deal on Monday.

Yoga Classes At Psycle London

In among all the eating and drinking you’ll be doing to celebrate in the week after your marathon, you should also think about doing some kind of recovery work – your body has just run 42.2km, after all. From 23rd April until 6th May you can claim a free yoga class at Psycle London’s Shoreditch gym. (This will involve booking the class and paying for it online, but when you present your marathon medal at the class the cost will be refunded to your Psycle account.) You can book one free class for each of the two weeks the offer runs.

Pizza At Bunga Bunga Battersea

On either Sunday 22nd or Monday 23rd you can have your massive achievement recognised with a free pizza at Bunga Bunga Battersea if you show your marathon bling.

Guacamole At Cantina Laredo

Free guacamole sounds great at any time, but great free guacamole tops it every time. Head to Cantina Laredo on Monday 23rd April and your medal will entitle you to one of the West End restaurant’s Great Eight varieties, which includes guac with blue cheese, guac with pineapple and even guac with grasshoppers.
